From a blank slate to a tropical resort-style backyard, Jodi made her clients’ dream a reality.

Nestled between the Santa Ynez mountains and Pacific coastline lies this oasis in the private community of Hope Ranch. Inspired by tropical vacations, the clients desired a modern and luxurious resort-style yard to match their newly remodeled interior.

Jodi and her team removed everything from the front and back of the property, leaving nothing but the empty pool. The backyard was transformed into a lush garden complete with new planters and multiple seating areas with the focal points being the hillside, now covered with colorful tropical plants, and the pool renovated with new coping, tile, and plaster. Concrete and ipe decking were introduced to surround the pool and lay the foundation for gathering spaces. A fire pit, dining area and a minimal concrete outdoor shower were added to complete the look.

Meandering pathways of concrete and pebbles dotted with sleek black light fixtures wrap around the home. The front yard was enhanced with all new drought-tolerant landscaping. A coat of black paint on the window trim, entry, garage doors, and brick accents completed the transformation.
