Sleek modernism meets California Cool in this Santa Barbara home.

Located in the prestigious Riviera neighborhood in the hills, this house now features classic mid-century appointments and bold decor.

With a poor layout for modern living, reimagining this space was simultaneously inspiring and challenging for Jodi and her team. Jodi G Designs collaborated with the homeowners to update the architectural plans, creating a more conducive design for the family’s lifestyle. By remodeling the space and updating the finishes, Jodi revealed a sleek, modern interior.

Inspired by the home’s updates, Jodi selected pieces that were classic and timeless – yet sculptural and bold. An enduring duo of black and white hues is a theme throughout the space, yet is punctuated by vibrant pops of color and warm wood textures. The newly refined kitchen is a minimalist’s dream – thanks to slab door cabinets in dark matte tones and open shelving. For the dining room, Jodi chose a variety of sculptural pieces, including an incredible curving sideboard that mimics the arching bouclé chairs.

Site-specific artwork is found throughout the home. Personally selected by Jodi, these pieces add color and intrigue to the austere space. From a rainbow-hued painting in the foyer to a feather-laden mandala in the powder room, there is something to discover in every corner of the house.

This completely reimagined home is now a modern hideaway, with sweeping views of the California coastline - almost rivaling the beauty inside.
