A 1920s California cottage, reinvented with organic textures, neutral tones and a top-of-the-line chef’s kitchen.
Located in the storybook ‘Bungalows’ corner of Upper East Side Santa Barbara on a quaint ocean view property, this classic 1920s California cottage was reinvented from the ground up by the Jodi G Designs team. Home to a mother and daughter, the final design was inspired by the duo’s warmth and natural inclination towards the California aesthetic.
One walks into the open, bohemian indoor/outdoor living space to be greeted by warm neutral tones, organic textures and cool blue hues — inspired by the surrounding landscape. This family-focused home is made complete with a chef’s kitchen, entirely gutted and rebuilt with custom cabinets, elegant appliances, marble and contemporary yet classic furnishings to create a large farm kitchen within a small space. Jodi G Designs worked closely with the owners to envision a space that was both modern and fresh — while still retaining a sense of character, narrative and individual personality. With an alfresco dining and entertaining area, plus indoor and outdoor fireplaces, this Santa Barbara Bungalow embraces and nourishes the soul through thoughtful details and careful design.
